It was a delight to meet readers and fellow writers at the first ever RomanceCon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Authors from across the country met with readers who were well prepared with book bags and rollers. Books were bought, signed, traded, and discussed over the two-day event in which novelists were encouraged to bring “assistants” to help manage foot traffic at their booths.

My assistant also happened to be my wife, Poe, who not only comes with great references, but is a better promoter of my books than I am. Many a reader wandered by our table (lured by the promise of a free Ghirardelli chocolate square) only to think that Poe was the author. It’s wonderful to have the support of one’s spouse in the fulfillment of a dream.
The attendance was beyond what I had envisioned, and I’m eagerly awaiting the next conference in September, where I will be offering my new novel, The Artificial Conspiracy, to the general public for the first time. We’ll see if Poe out-promotes me again this year.
Tickets are still available for those wishing to attend. RomanceCon 2025 will take place September 5th and 6th at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To register, visit this link.
